If everything mentioned in this report is at least 70% correct, losing an entire 2011-12 season is not a surprise.

To summarize (if you are too lazy to read the whole thing in English), among other things, high level representatives from both sides did meet before their own meetings with their respective groups. When David Stern tried to sell the  50/50 split idea, and thought he could get the players to agree; superstars like KG, Pierce and even Kobe showed up and pretty much rejected that idea and wouldn't go anything lower than 53% BRI. Two problems (or questions) here:

1) Are Billy Hunter and Derek Fisher still representing the players now? If suddenly superstars can come out and pretty much override their direction.
2) It was tough for Stern to sell to his owners on the 50/50 split idea, and now the way things are heading; it is nearly impossible for him to even bring that up anymore.

At last, it looks like we will have a season after all! Both sides have reached a tentative agreement similar to what was offered by the NBA. Sure, both sides still need to ratified the deal to make it official, but I don't think anyone is stupid enough to say NO now.

People keep saying the winners in this shorten 66-game season are those older teams like the Spurs, Lakers and Mavs... no, I think not! I think the T-Wolves would turn out to be the biggest winners! At least it is very unlikely they will lose 60-plus game at all, haha!!

Some of you might have heard about that proposed three-team deal with CP3 going to the Lakers earlier... that deal is DEAD! Daivd Stern nixed it after some owners filed complaints to him. By quashing the CP3 deal, David Stern showed the world he is an idiot, and it is really time he step down as commissioner. Good luck finding a taking for the Hornets, and I'd like to see how he handle the next CP3-related trade proposal.

Whether you like or hate the Lakers, this is a big deal you should care! What Stern did shows he could and would nixed any deal (fair or not) YOUR team might pull in the future. In translation, teams can't do business by the CBA now it seems. What the NBA has become? Come on... this is ridiculous!

Pre-season games are finally here! Ok, they are NOT that exciting, but at least it means we are closer to the start of the 2011-12 season.

That's pretty much expected. After all, those guys haven't played organized basketball since last May or so...

By the way, did you guys hear Kobe's wife, Vanessa, has just filed for a divorce? Man, this sucks and I am not sure how Kobe will handle it this season. Will he use it as fuel and concentrate on playing ball like a mad man, or will he be so distracted the Lakers' season is doomed before it is even started? I hope we get the 'angry Kobe'!

By the way, bad news keeps coming to vet teams. Jeff Green of the Celtics will be out of the entire season due to a newly discovered heart problem. Wish he is well...

With Brook Lopez breaking his foot, I think any potential D12 to the Nets trade talk is now off the table.

If D12 is traded this season at all, it appears the Lakers are now the only logicial destination. We will see how it all come down this season, as both the Lakers and Magic have their own issues to figure out after the brief pre-season.

The "LOB-City" looks so interesting this year. With Blake, DeAndre and Caron all can dunk. With CP3 and Mr. Big Shot to make lobs, interesting combination. It's good to see the Clippers not a shitty team anymore.

Yeah, the Clippers will be interesting to watch, and I am glad they are relevant again!

By the way, I cannot wait for the start of game #1 tomorrow morning (@1am)!!! Geez... I hope I can stay up and watch at least the first 3 games. If not, I will likely watch the Celtics @ Knicks, then take a nap before I wake up for the Bulls @ Lakers...

The Lakers definitely come to play today, and their defense is MUCH improved over last year's!!! And I like McBob already!!!

BTW, what the hell is wrong with the Mavs today? Oh, and the Celtics @ Knicks game was a good one.
