Could you do me a favor, please?

My favourite quote :

Most programmer knows this but most non programmers probably don't care.

But it also follows that error free software in fact does not exist (or if you are an optimist: very rare).
No matter how much testing you do you cannot prove that the software is free from errors.

Therefore all software contain bugs (i.e. errors). Now I think most non programmers would worry about this.

You see banks tells us ATM do not make mistakes. If there is a withdrawal then someone must have made it.
ATM is controlled by software and software is never error free!
(No prizes for guessing I do not use ATM)

And do you know that when you make a withdrawal at a large local bank they now ask you to "sign" on a tablet and not on paper.
Of course I insist on signing on paper (bet you didn;t know you can insist on signing on paper).
Is not that I don't trust them but rather I do not trust their software. (Afterall they sold us LB minibonds; of course we trust them!)

但八達通，近似既system, 就肯定有扣錯錢

八達通肯定有出錯

但未發現過就當矛樹囉

呀吓

ATM尐機都係行緊windows，點會咩問題都無？遇唔到係時運高既問題，應該心存感恩。

其實唔駛担心!
十幾年前同某銀行SA同SSA講:
你哋用嚟裝key既char array要留多一個character做terminator.
結果繼續冇人理.
可能連Triple-DES個key都冇人知, 你話幾咁secure呢!

按: 最經典係Y2K嗰時, 某香港島商場既ATM, 成排出error啫! 冇乜嘢吖!

同銀行佬講野系好困難,
尤其當年atm機得兩間大廠供應,
要佢地tailor-made難過乜,
佢用一句話我地的system過到 ACID test,
就好難拗落去

Triple DES  ( Triple Data Encryption Algorithm ) ( 三重資料加密 ) 就算知,
都可能由於增加hardware成本而被否決, 畢竟兩大陣營atm系統,涉及過百銀行,
要過半同意難過乜
而 brute-force attacks ( 用電腦撞密碼 )會被認為會被其他保安方式禁止而被忽略

y2k時我在日不落之國,所有IT人員要ON DUTY, 到過左先狂歡,
聽講香港人人放假?

又唔知, 又死撐嗰吓, 唔知講詳好!

放假就冇份都唔在講, rehearsal十號風球, 一街水塔, 都要返工!

按: 如果有個水塔丟落部的士度, 哈, 因為唔係公司車,
份勞工保都冇得claim呀! 你話陰唔陰x公吖!

其實OCTOPUS系PAPER MONEY, 算入M1貨幣之內,
唔應該放鬆,
呢樣金管局銀監處都有責任.
不過班PK議員冇鬼用,從來冇CHALLENGE政府呢方面既監管

錯 account 應該機會微 d 嘛 ....

在PROGRAMMING來講有兩大原則保障,
1. ATOMICITY原整性,即一個交易未完成系唔會入賬
    所謂未完成 即未來回確認
2. ISOLATION分隔性,即兩個或更多交易在進行時,亙不干擾,
    每個處理都系當只有一個交易在進行,未完成之前系唔會在另一邊見到.
