Was about to say the same... signing him might have "doomed" the Spurs' chances for this year. And in reality the Spurs might not be a sure thing to advance to the second round.
They waived Stephen Jackson, a reliable vet off the bench; Manu is out of the first round, and Tony Parker is still recovering from his injuries. So we will see just how good their young players are going to be. As for T-Mac, he is just an insurance policy, and don't be surprised he gets ZERO playing time.

Stephen Jackson應該係紀律好有問題
波波SIR唔會忍呢D問題球員
Yes, in a way that is just sad. I mean, Step Jackson was an important reason why they won the 2003 championship, and many people would've thought his return would bring another one to San Antonio. More, people thought he knew how to behave within the team. Apparently some people never learn... Alan Iverson is another prime example there.
The Heat was playing lazy in that game (@ Miami) early in the season. Without Duncan, Parker and Manu, the Heat thought they could easily roll over the depleted Spurs. Well, that was the regular season, but you cannot rely on young guys in the playoffs. Opposing teams would analyze your strategies and adjust game-by-game! That is why it is much harder to beat a team in a 7-game series 2-3 times in a row!
IF, just a big if, the Lakers beat the Rockets and get the #7 seed, thus making your Rockets #8. I think it would be an interesting series in itself. Harden is in the playoffs against his former team, and the FIRST playoffs for J-Lin. No, I don't expect the Rockets to win more than one game against the Thunder, but I also think it will be an interesting series.
Individually I think Harden will score a lot, and often. Kevin Martin can't guard Harden, and I don't think they want to risk Westbrook in foul trouble by putting him on Harden either. Thabo Sefolosha and Jeremy Lamb might get their chances, but we will see how the Thunder run their rotation. The Rockets are a good enough 3 point shooting team, so if the Thunder try to double Harden everytime he gets the ball, someone from the Rockets are going to be wide open for 3s. Like I said, in the end it might be a 4-0 sweep by the Thunder, but it won't be as easy as you might think.
Not surprising, as they really don't have anyone else who can create his own shots; and J-Lin is too inexperienced to really run the offense right now. Harden has to play like a PG and shot the ball whenever he has a chance. That's why I said individually he should have a good series, and I bet he wants to play well against his old team too.
I think we both spoke too soon... after all, the Rockets can STILL get the #7 seed if they beat LA and the Warriors lose tonight... so anything can still happen
I think this playoffs is going to be a good experience for these Rockets to build something upon for the future. So I agreed, it doesn't matter who you face but why not play longer?
Your Rockets almost beat us in LA! So as you can see, Harden will find his scoring against the Thunder. It is a matter of the other guys making their shots, and making the right rotations to stop guys. Good luck!
