^ Juwan5 c-hing has good points up there, but then drafting players ain't exact science either. There is always the human factor, or guys never turn out to be as good at the pro level or what not. Let's ignore those dumb picks you mentioned, and we've all seen many seemingly 'safe' picks turned out to be bust as well.
All in all, I am happy for Lin, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves here. Let's wait a bit longer and see how he gel with both Amare and Melo in the lineup, and then let's check out how he and the Knicks perform in the 1st round first, shall we?
I am a new member of 141 forum and want to join in. I stay in US and is a long time Knicks fans (since the Ewing days). After suffering the last 10 years from inept management, I finally see the end of the tunnel for my beloved Knicks. And best of all, it is Lin leading the team. It just makes us Chinese so pround in the basket world. I hope we will never wake up from the Linsanity dream.
Thanks for everybody adding me points! It is really an interesting forum. Knicks lost to Nets . Deron had a statement game against Lin hitting 8 3pointers. I guess Lin becomes a mark now. There is really a lot of talent in NBA. In the point guard position, who would you rate as the top 5? Even, I support Lin my whole heart, he is still learning. I would have Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Rajon Rando, Steve Nash, Derrick Rose a tag better for the time being.
Call it whatever, but in my opinion today's blow out doesn't "count".
For starters, Duncan, Parker and Manu all sat out on this one. Secondly, among the 9 guys who took action for the Spurs, I only recognize 3 of them in Jefferson, Bonner and Blair. Even better, Jefferson only played 19 minutes. I think that pretty much said it all for the Spurs.
Having said that, don't get me wrong, the Blazers are a very good team and I think they are capable of beating the full-strength Spurs.
The new New York Knicks will have their biggest test tomorrow facing the Heat... Will be a interest game to watch since lBJ has reported that he's gonna spend sometime guarding Line himself...
Another crazy but interesting side story... Did anyone hear that JR Smith got a million dollars fine from his Chinese team?
JR Smith got fined by his Chinese team? What for? If anything, the CBA season hasn't officially finished, and by contract terms Smith couldn't even do anything NBA related.
The Lakers got a little lucky and won an ugly one at Dallas... wow!
Thanks for the link, C-hing... wow! Smith signed with the Knicks?! That's a pretty good pick up for the Knicks, and they surely will make the rest of the season interesting. I kind of hope to see a Knicks vs. Heat playoffs series at some point. Kind of miss the Knicks/Heat rivalry from the 90's...
Thanks for the link, C-hing... wow! Smith signed with the Knicks?! That's ...
Don't need to wait for playoff, they are playing now. Lin is having trouble protecting the ball, too many TOs, not effective so far. Heat is pressing hard and excellent defense. The game is very close. Half time now.
^ I would say let's take it easy on Lin. Coming from out of nowhere to becoming the focus of the NY Knicks of all teams is not an easy thing to handle. The Heat obviously knew that and they were prepared for Lin today. Let's just say you cannot win them all. Having said that, like I've said it before he needs to cut down on his TOs and decision making sometimes for him to be considered great!
Ok, then how about Ricky Rubio is now in the Guinness Book of World Records for made shots from behind the backboard in a minute time period. He made 18 shots.
