If you use a much cheaper sparkling wine to expensive champagne, champagne is still better.
If you have a fixed budget, sparkling wine's price/performance will be better.

well, unless you're dating a girl meet at wine tasting function/class; or her dad is rich enough to have own cellar
most people can't really tell the difference in minor (but curcial on enthuaists' tongue) differences...

If you put a bottle of a few thousand dollars and one hundred dollar wine together, most of the people can tell the different.

but we can all agree that French champange(s) are better because they pay more attention to detail and put in more effort than a lot of wine-makers, including their marketing budget
