it might not pass safety test, carbon fiber might be light weighted, but its endurance can not compare with those of alloy. Gov might not allow it for street car

You can get this as an option in Porsche, etc, so don't worry about its safety issue.

F1 only allows metal rims no carbon.

For reliabilty, Enkei makes rims for Mclaren and it states the life expectancy is no more than 3,000 KM.
