THE LEX COLUMN: 投資紅酒要耐心

拉菲酒莊（Chateau Lafite Rothschild）可真聰明。拉圖莊（Chateau Latour）最近因為宣布不再發行期酒而獨佔了傳媒眼球，而同為一級酒莊的拉菲罕有地提早公布2011年酒花的價格，成功降低了自己和同業在紅酒價格下跌的這一年中面對的負面風險。然而，這對要找尋平貨的投資者來說，卻不算是個好消息。

拉圖莊不具風險

對拉圖莊來說，不參加波爾多期酒節（Bordeaux en primeur）這個紅酒界盛事，可能會損害其形像，因為即使在法國，紅酒的品牌也愈來愈受到重視。而且，退出期酒買賣將打擊其現金流。

根據知名酒商Berry Bros ＆ Rudd估計，拉圖莊近年把期酒買賣降至20%到30％，就是為了這一刻作準備。然而，要等15年才可以收到去年釀製的紅酒將對很多行業構成問題。但拉圖莊本身資金雄厚，不擔心風險問題，因為其東主是奢侈品集團PPR的行政總裁皮諾特（Francois-Henri Pinault）。

投資者去年對期酒節的產品價格高昂感到不滿，而今年因夏季天氣難測，加上經濟不景，意味價格會比較便宜。拉菲酒莊今年減價三成，每瓶紅酒平均售價420歐羅（4309.8港元），應該可以安撫批評者，並訂下一個標準，令其他對手不會爭相降價。拉菲酒莊出品的紅酒，目前在數目愈來愈多的中國紅酒愛好者之間最受歡迎。

不會出現減價戰

這意味紅酒市場不會出現投資者想看到的減價戰。不過，炒家應該記得1997年的教訓，當時酒商為了捍衛價格而限制紅酒供應。這個做法最初是有效的，但後來科網泡沫爆破，加上伊拉克戰爭引起的反美情緒等等事件，促使投資者恐慌性地以少於原價三分之二的價錢拋售紅酒。紅酒價格至今已經上升了一倍以上。

酒商必須等待期酒熟成。投資者如果真的想要找平貨便要有耐心，否則便應該另尋其他投資選擇。

Buy some real Maotai instead la.  Last year I bought 18 cases of the real stuff, 6 bottles each case, ~$16,000.  Friends already offering $23,000 for them.

Nop.  The market price has came down ~10% recently, 2000RMB to 1800RMB.  But the fact is still that only ~5% of the Maotai in the market is from the original, aka real, source, so I am keeping them.

It is distilled hard liquid, just throw them at some dark corner will be fine.
I am keeping them for ST profit.
Maotai is now sample of corruptions in China after it was all over the news.  I believe states will force the price to come down.  However, that only applies to the fake Maotai or real Maotai but not from the original source, the so called "franchised" Maotai.
The real Maotai from the original/real source will only go up on the price since it is impossible for ppl without some huge connections to get.
The idea came after some friends bought 400KRMB worth of Maotai then later realized all of them were "franchised" Maotai.
