For the Lakers' long term benefit, it might not be a bad thing is Kobe misses the first month or two of the season, especially it might help their chances in getting a higher pick in the supposedly deep 2014 Draft.
I think out west, it will STILL be between the Spurs and Thunder comes WCF time. Yes, I said, not that the Clippers are bad, but even with Rivers coaching that team with so much talents right now; I just don't see them getting pass either one of those teams mentioned above.
In that order, I think your Rockets are still behind the Clippers in terms of team play and overall quality.
