# Laithwaite Merlot 2008, Bordeaux AOC
Great colour, oceans of friendly ripe fruit and with its silken tannins, a structured, serious side too. Toasty oak and mouth-caressingly smooth flavour of plums, dark cherries and redcurrants. A big, rich glassful that's great on its own and even better with ripe cheeses or roasted meats. Enjoy Until end of 2014.
# Le Grand Chai Lalande de Pomerol 2007, Bordeaux AOC
Using fruit from premium vineyards in Pomerol, this is a glorious claret that's graduated with the purest fruit flavours. Deep cigar box aromas, and generous redcurrant and plum flavours. Great finesse, smooth, ripe tannins - everything that makes great claret so coveted. Enjoy Until end of 2013.
# Domaine du Gouyat 1996, Bergerac AOC
Domaine du Gouyat made a velvety, textbook, Merlot-rich red - but their marketing skills lagged way behind their winemaking abilities and much of it was never sold. Instead it sat in the darkest corner of this 16th century cellar quietly maturing, turning into something magnificent. Eventually word got out about this precious secret and our buyer in Bordeaux swooped on your behalf. Enjoy until end of 2012.
# Château Florie Aude 2009, Bordeaux AOC
The 2009 Chateau Florie Aude is a beautiful deep ruby colour in the glass. A complex aroma of red fruits and plum with a hint of tobacco leaf. On the palate the wine is silky and rounded with plum, cassis and cedary notes over firm, rounded tannins. Enjoy with roast lamb or beef, stuffed loin of pork, or hard farmhouse cheeses. Enjoy until end of 2014.
# Château Grand Bireau 2008, Bordeaux
The Barthe family has owned and run the estate since 1789 and - while precious about their heritage - they are very much abreast of modern trends in winemaking. It is run by two brothers; the eldest, Ludovic, takes charge in the cellar, while Lionel looks after the vineyard. For this wine he matured a little under half the cuvée in oak to get just the right balance of flavours and only lightly filtered the wine just before bottling to ensure none of the rich flavours were lost. Enjoy until end 2015.
# Domaine Dionysos 2007, Côtes du Rhône AOC
This is one powerful show-off of a wine! Lipstainingly dark and made from the greatest Rhône vintage in 30 years. Conditions were perfect right off the mark, right through to the harvest. As a result, the wines are imbued with astonishing complexity - as well as dark, brooding and awesomely dark fruit flavours. It really is a perfect balance of power and finesse - and after three years' patient ageing, this smooth, oak-aged triumph is beautifully mature, and ready for your table! Enjoy until end 2011.
