媲美光纖上網 4G年底科學園試玩

準第4代（Pre－4G） LTE極速高清    流動寬頻服務，全球各地已陸續做測試，香港應科院與中移動    合作研發出全球首個TD-LTE制式的信號發射基站及接收器，5月初已在上海    世博面世，可作高清視像會議及高清視頻下載，改良後的第二版將於年底在內地5個主要城市測試，應科院亦會在香港科學園設置數台機站，供市民免費體驗。

視像會議像素720p 無起格無鬼影

應科院投資逾2000萬元，2008年開始研發的TD-LTE信號發射基站及接收器，在電腦舉行視像會議，畫面像素高達720p，無起格、無鬼影，相當流暢，今明兩日在金鐘港鐵站大堂展示，市民可率先在港體驗媲美光纖上網的流動寬頻。

LTE制式主要分為TDD（時分雙工）及FDD（頻分雙工）兩類，負責項目的通訊技術群組研發總監葉暉表示，現時全球只有小部分國家開始試行4G，包括瑞典    、美國    及日本    等，今次應科院與中移動合作，成為TD-LTE機站及接數器的先行者，中移動將積極在內地推動4G，估計數年後開始廣泛使用，「希望能帶領中國標準打入世界」。

I know that both AT&T and Verizon's networks in U.S. are keeping up the R&D and field testing the LTE network, and it seems that the CDMA and GSM 3G technologies will be replaced by LTE in the U.S. starting next year or so. However, China has three different standards of 3G now, with China Mobile using the Chinese developed standard. In the age of worldwide competition and domination, I hope people can share the same standard worldwide and benefit us the consumers the most.
