< Heroes > 是David Bowie另一首傳唱金曲，很多人初次聆聽應是電影《The Perks of Being a Wallflower》( 香港譯《少年自讀日記》)，片中主角三人一起開車兜風，妙麗起身長開雙臂，搭配著< Heroes >穿越隧道，那美麗的鏡頭不輸舒淇女神在《千禧漫波》的經典片頭。
這首歌在歷史上有更大的意義：間接推倒了柏林圍牆。
時間回到70年代，那時候正值冷戰時期，David Bowie與好友 a.k.a 龐克教父 Iggy Pop 一起搬到了柏林，在那期間發行了三張專輯，其中一張就是《Heroes》。專輯同名曲靈感來自製作人 Tony Visconti 與女友的愛情故事，戀人不管任何困難，就算連柏林圍牆也阻礙不了他們，就是要永遠在一起。
這三張專輯號稱「柏林三部曲」，錄音室就在圍牆旁。1987年，David Bowie 選在圍牆旁邊的德國國會廣場舉辦《Heroes》的露天演場會。想當然爾，音量絕對不是圍牆可以隔絕的，東德的居民當然聽到了< Heroes >，而且當時 David Bowie 讓西德的電台自由放送《Heroes》，圍牆隔絕不了音量，也更不可能隔絕電磁波。
David Bowie其實做得很明顯了，兩年後，柏林圍牆倒下，東西德統一。2016 年 David Bowie 過世，德國外交部發表聲明感謝 David Bowie 為推倒圍牆的付出。同年八月，柏林市豎立 David Bowie 紀念碑，並在碑上引用 < Heroes > 歌詞 :「We can be heroes, just for one day .」
