1963年5月27日，美國民謠搖滾歌手 Bob Dylan 透過廠牌 Columbia Records 發行第二張個人專輯 < The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan >，相較於第一張同名專輯只有2首歌是原創，< The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan > 的13首歌裡頭有11首歌是 Dylan 自己的作品，開場曲 "Blowin' In The Wind" 被奉為六零年代最具代表性的搖滾國歌之一，並且被 Peter, Paul and Mary 翻唱而成為國際名曲，其他如 "Girl From The North Country"、"Masters Of War"、"A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" 與 "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" 等也都被認為是 Dylan 的優秀作品。
2002年，< The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan > 加入首批50張被美國國會圖書館 The Library of Congress 送入國家錄音典藏 National Recording Registry 的行列，以彰顯其文化重要性。
