Liverpool target Willian wants Premier League move to boost World Cup chances

Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder Willian wants to move to Liverpool, the Daily Mirror has reported, in order to boost his chances of turning out for Brazil at the World Cup in 2014.
Willian in his Shakhtar days
Willian only moved to Anzhi in January but the Russian club’s owner has withdrawn his funding, leading to a fire sale of the high-earners. Willian was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30m and the newspaper adds that Liverpool are reluctant to pay a fee in the same ballpark, which would lead to a delay in the deal.
But Willian is clear in his wish to move to the Premier League. “There are conversations, and I am hoping in the next few days for an offer from a club like Liverpool,” he admitted.
“If it is Liverpool, then they are a great club. The news came as a real shock, but I’m calm about it and hoping for the best, because I’ve been told they will help the players to go, if they get a good offer.”
