Dan Fogelberg - Same Old Lang Syne (1980)

Dan Fogelberg於1951年生於伊利諾州的Peoria，2007年因癌症過世，享年僅56歲。他的曲風比較偏近民謠，帶點soft rock。

Same Old Lang Syne事實上是Fogelberg自己的故事，劇中主角就是他自己和高中時期的女友Jill Anderson。1969年高中畢業後兩人各奔東西，1975年兩人都返鄉過耶誕，結果在一家商店巧遇，接下來發生的就是歌中故事。但Fogelberg從來未曾透露女主角真名，直到他2007年去世之後，嫁人之後改名為Jill Greulich、在密蘇里州當小學老師的女友才跳出來承認這段歷史。
她說，Fogelberg很貼心的在歌詞裡作了某些變動，因為她的眼珠顏色並非藍色而是綠色，她的第一任老公則不是建築師，而是體育老師。歌中描寫她並非那麼愛她的老公，也是事實，因為她在本曲發行的1980年之前就已離婚，但不知道Fogelberg是如何得知這個訊息。
