如果要搵老牌廚師， 我 推薦 Wolfgang Puck.

No offense, but
You need to define what is #1.
Size ?   
Number of restaurants ?
Wolgang's are never the biggest, but at least we see him host the Oscars' dinners fir a number of years.
Surely there is one difference between Blumenthal and  Puck. One is very much British, one is known in the USA.

It's interesting, perhaps ironic, that you being in America is a big fan of a British chef while I who has spent time in UK is more a fan of an American  chef  than  British.

And btw,  have you tried Blumenthal's restaurant yourself?
I've never been there, but I did try Curtis Stone, Wolfgang Puck's, and Gordan Ramsey.

I imagine it must be real good, I mean Fat Duvk
