中國製千萬核心超級電腦 登全球500強榜首——上榜數量亦壓過美國

每年6月及11月均會更新全球500強超級電腦排名的「TOP500」計劃，近日公佈最新結果。3年前開始成為榜首的中國超級電腦「天河二號」，被同樣來自中國的「神威太湖之光」取而代之。此外，中國在榜上的超級電腦有168部，以3部之差首次超越美國，日本跟以29部排第3。
位於中國國家超級計算無錫中心的神威太湖之光，使用40,960個260核心處理器——每個處理器有256個核心作運算用途，餘下４個用作資源管理。這使得整部超級電腦擁有超過千萬核心，比天河二號的312萬還要多，同時耗電量卻低了超過13%。
兩部超級電腦使用的晶片亦有所不同，天河二號使用半導體業巨頭英特爾的處理器，而神威太湖之光則用中國自家開發的晶片SW26010。這亦使得神威太湖之光成為首部登上榜首的中國製超級電腦，成為中國科技發展的里程碑。
根據統計，中國在TOP500上的超級電腦數目，由1995年的1部，在短短20年左右３上升至現時的168部——在500部電腦中佔33.6%，運算能力更佔整體的37.3%。
去年2月，美國商貿部以國家安全為理由，禁止英特爾發向中國售予其Xeon處理器，禁令亦涵蓋其他廠商如AMD、Nvidia及IBM等。不過這項禁令似乎未有減慢中國發展超級電腦的步伐，甚至適得其反。
自1993年開始為TOP500設計評分測試的電腦科學家Jack Dongarra相信，禁令促使中國政府投放更多資源推動研究，發展自家製的處理器。他更表示，某程度上神威太湖之光正是禁令的結果。
神威太湖之光的運算速度，理論上最高達到125 PFLOPS（每秒一千兆次浮點運算），與之相比，美國目前最快的超級電腦泰坦（Titan）只有27 PFLOPS。按照目前計劃，美國能源部在2018年將會有3部運算能力介乎150至200 PFLOPS的超級電腦——但屆時中國很可能又會有更快的超級電腦。
不過，這部號稱全球最強的電腦也不是沒有弱點，雖然擁有131萬GB的記憶體，但其速度相對較慢。在另一項較能反映實際應用的評測標準HPCG上，神威太湖之光的表現僅達最高峰的3%，甚至比天河二號更慢，但仍高於泰坦。

In the high tech area, China has a strong R&D team. Most of the fake things are in the low tech field.

China have come a long way.
Their first generation of super computers was clusters of intel cpus
Then came along new generations using clusters of Tesla ( a branch out of Nvidia 's  displays. )
Tesla cpus are large arrays of  cudas, the same used in the Nvidia displays.

The latest super computer -z there seems to be no mentions anywhere about the cpus they use.
Maybe  they are already using the quantum  physics theory ?
