Past perfect
Unlike with the Present Perfect, it is possible to use specific time words or phrases with the Past Perfect. Although this is possible, it is usually not necessary.
Do you understand the term of "usually not necessary"
The "mention" was an action in the past, base on your logical, if someone "said" something in the past, it will forever in present future because the statement will be forever his/her view (script). Example for present perfect, I am giving a speech and I use it the it will be present future because I am still giving the speech. How if I wish to indicate something that I mentioned in my previous speech, then it will be past perfect.
Of course, look like you are only good at name calling. |
