回復 lobito #87 的帖子
since day 1 we have prospered without universal suffrage but with just rule of law
that guarenteed freedom and equality for all
so the pro-democrats' argument that without universal suffrage hk will be doomed is much exaggerated
(that said, true universal suffrage is preferable to the current one for sure)
after much thinking, I conclude that what is critical to hk's future, more than anything else, is the integrity of her future ceo
as long as he or she has a genuine concern for the welfare of hk's citizens and preserve her culture and values, hk will continue to prosper, undoubtedly, as before
it is the collusion between gov't officials and businesses that can create much hardships for their citizens
a case in point: tsang hardly held any land sales during his years, why? he wanted to help those tycoons by propping up property prices through constricting supply
now, some of us, not on public housing , have to spend half of our income or more just to have a roof over our heads, so what if hk's tax rate is low !!!!!
(remember, tsang's brother works for sun hung kai after retiring from his post as police commissioner)
as seen in the newpapers, china has many more cases of this kind of collusion
sadly, I cannot name one pro-democrat that is morally fit and ideal to be our next ceo
I would also like to say: beiijing, you have to do a much better job of ruling china than now if you want to stay in power |
