Ronaldo drops Spain hint
Friday 16 May 2008
Cristiano Ronaldo has suggested he may consider his Manchester United future after next week's Champions League Final.
The 23-year-old winger has once again been linked with an £80million move to Real Madrid after scoring a remarkable 41 goals in all competitions this season.
CRISTIANO RONALDO Ronaldo claims he is happy at Old Trafford, but has refused to rule out a shock move to Spain in what would be a new world record transfer deal.
"I'm happy here, but let's see what happens after the Champions League final (with Chelsea)," he said when speaking to Spanish television station Antena 3.
"I know Real Madrid like how I play and other teams in Spain do as well.
"I have said millions of times that I would love to play in Spain, but it's one thing to dream and another thing for it to be a reality.
"I am feeling calm here. I'm happy here but in the future I don't know."
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has fired an ominous warning to the rest of the Premier League after vowing to improve next season.
The flying winger added the Football Writers' Player of the Year trophy to his burgeoning collection on Thursday evening.
But Ronaldo, who was also named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year for the second successive season, has no plans to rest on his laurels.
"I am still going to want to win more, to carry on like this. I will not stop because I have these two awards.
"Next season I will try to do my best again.
"I have improved every season and will try to improve next season. I am enjoying my football, and want to carry on."
