While Toyota execs aren’t talking specifics, it’s safe to say that the FT-1 concept hints at an outcome from ongoing conversations between Toyota and BMW about sharing a component set for a joint sports car. If the resultant car carries a Toyota badge, it’s likely to come in at or under $50,000 simply because the brand can’t support a higher price without treading on Lexus’s territory. Thus, it will probably use architecture from the next BMW Z4.
