事件是一家三口（一對夫婦及兩歲幼女）在紐約公路駕著ＳＵＶ去慶祝結婚記念。在公路上遇上很多（３０至１００輛）摩托車，被那些摩托車黨圍著。當中一位摩托車手（Christopher Cruz）駛到ＳＵＶ前突然減慢車速而引致輕微碰撞。２０至３０輛摩托車隨後完全停下，阻礙了SUV的行車線，其中一名摩托車手下車步近汽車，然後好像開始破壞汽車（自己看片決定）。

ＳＵＶ男性司機感覺生命受到威脅，突然不理一切，開車輾過擋著他的摩托車手(Jay Meezee)離開。其餘的摩托車手一直追著那ＳＵＶ，直至那ＳＵＶ停下來後，其中一摩托車手脫下頭盔上前打碎汽車的玻璃窗，並將男子拉出車外毆打。

ＳＵＶ男司機Alexian Lien被打致昏迷入院。被他輾過的摩托車手亦會半身不遂。ＳＵＶ的男司機應否為輾過他人，引致他人嚴重受傷而被定罪？

恃惡打人的呢班電單車佬固然之錯,恃人多恃惡存心挑釁。意外根本係電單車佬刻意引起的。

私家車佬亦有錯,明知呢班係麻煩友,就讓他們走先喇,片中可見其他車輛都避瘟神咁避晒呢班野,佢就咪鬼俾機會呢班友嚟惹佢喇,計吓條數都實知蝕俾人,仲要自己帶住老婆同個女,超人都死喇。雖然話佢為保護家人而踩油碌過嗰條蛋散係情有可原,但係一早肯退一步成個結局相信是不一樣的。

另外,真係唔明紐約的差佬工作效益係咪真係咁低,雙方追逐咁耐差佬都可以嚟唔到

我睇法同樓上兩位都唔同.

1) 電單車隊, 一直在超前.  即係速度唔會太慢.
2) 被撞車手, 睇片好明顯係頭轉左, 與左後方朋友談話, 依個動作, 作為後方SUV司機無理由講睇唔到...  無理由唔收車, 撞上去....
3) 遇事之後, 想逃.   問題係, SUV夠電單車快咩 ?  最後導致其中一車手Jay Meezee 被輾過.  

睇片, 我就睇唔到有令人吃驚理由.  自己驚, 唔覺得可以係前路受阻塞之下依然橫衝直撞啦....

如果當時有人抽出槍另有意圖另計..............

片中亦隱隱看到該車的剎車燈亮了,是有無故剎車,但我就有少少唔認同咁係"急剎車",不過卻同意這樣無故剎車是引致碰撞的始作俑者,要為碰撞負上較大的責任。

至於有沒有人拿出攻擊性武器,片段中的確看不到,但事後揸SUV條友的確是除了被毆了一頓之外,還受了刀傷的,所以唔排除佢真係受驚而做出這些行為。

不過歸根究底,如果佢識得計一計雙方"戰力"的分野,一早作出正確的判斷,知道自己惹唔過呢班友,咁就唔使自招橫禍,仲要嚇壞個老婆同個女。

被撞車手在頭擰向左之前曾多次擰向右面 <-- 好明顯係同人講緊嘢, 我唔覺係咩問題...  

至於你講佢將其電單車數次壓向該輛SUV...?  條片影唔到, 真係唔知.  但如果我係電單司機, 我一定唔會.  電單車根本唔夠SUV撞....  有心壓向該輛SUV, 咪即係自殺.  我就唔會啦...

至於講兩名電單車司機挑釁...  最後又唔係被警方拘捕......  
如果電單車手真係無故剎車, 基本上已經死咗嫁啦..... 剎車燈亮了, 只係代表叫尾隨車輛注意及作出應對.  如果真玩緊部SUV, 係要留心後鏡, 判定與尾車距離.  但係睇片, 當時被撞車手, 似乎全無留意尾隨車輛.  而片中, 我只係見其他車在加速, 被撞者超車之後, 無再加速.  而唔見你所講剎車.  

自然, 每個人處事手法各有不同.  

我只係代入如果我係SUV司機,  按片中情況, 如果我係SUV司機, 我會覺得前車無留意我.  因為當時佢唔係望緊後鏡.  而當時, 我角度根本唔係叫相撞, 我會叫推尾.  如果作為後車司機而有心撞佢, 佢一定死. 唔想撞佢, 而有車入咗我條線之後, 我一定會收車, 保持與前車一個安全距離, 又或者慢車打死火燈, 讓佢地先行.  但係如果我唔滿意佢, 我就會學當事人, 同佢鬥過, 推佢尾..  即係輕輕撞佢尾一下, 作為警告.

兩個都冇錯,
SUV車司機睇得荷李活警匪片太多,幻想自己是"超人"。
摩托車手幻想自己是"藍保"。
這是社會的錯,如果在中國發生,人們會笑那两個司機:"你估你係成龍呀？你估你老爸是李剛嗎？......"
不過最錯還是紐約的警方,走晒去邊吞泡呀？Obama無粮出俾你地咩？

我再補充一些資料，看看大家會否應此而改變睇法。

Christopher Cruz (被碰撞的摩托車手)是非洲裔。

SUV 司機Alexian Lien是中國人。

在美國法例，摩托車和其他汽車有著同等的道路使用權利。但亦表示摩托車比起其他汽車沒有優先特權。這代表兩輛摩托車不能使用同一車道。 即是片中公路上是三線車道，只能有三輛摩托車並排。

Topvision所說的，Christopher Cruz與左後方朋友談話，這講法有些保留。我個人覺得他回頭是要看摩托車後車輪和SUV之間的距離。在公路上我也經常遇過類似情況，叫Road Rage，是一種挑釁行為。汽車故意在你前方突然減慢車速，讓後方司機駕駛困難，如引致車禍，更可索償。片中Christopher Cruz　是否如此？（各位自決）

華裔司機Alexian Lien在遇上摩托車群是並沒有讓路。雖然說摩托車和其他汽車有著同等的權利，但摩托車始終比較危險，一般情況下汽車司機都會覺得摩托車有較高的道路使用權。（在這情況下我通常會駛向慢線，甚至離開公路，讓車群離開。）

有了這些資料，不家的看法有否改變？

An off-duty undercover New York City police officer was among the crowd of motorcyclists on the scene as SUV driver Alexian Lien was beaten on Sunday, officials confirmed to ABC News today.

The undercover narcotics cop did not intervene in the beating out of fear that his cover would be blown, sources said.

The cop's identity has not been released by the NYPD. According to officials, the officer notified his superiors days after the incident. He was a motorcyclist who was there on his own time, they said.

The information is part of the ongoing investigation by the NYPD and the Manhattan district attorney into the confrontation and beating that happened Sunday afternoon between a group of 20 to 30 motorcyclists and Lien, caught on video and uploaded to the Internet.

The officer's involvement is also the subject of an Internal Affairs investigation, sources said.

Lien was driving his SUV on the West Side Highway in Manhattan with his wife and 2-year-old as part of a wedding anniversary celebration around 2 p.m. Sunday when their SUV was surrounded by the motorcyclists, who were doing an annual ride through the city, police and Lien's wife said.

The bikers tried to slow traffic and one biker cut Lien off, slowing down and leading Lien to bump into the biker, police said. The group of motorcyclists then slowed down further and surrounded the SUV, causing Lien to accelerate away from the group. Lien's wife, Rosalyn Ng, said that her husband feared for their lives when he decided to take off to get away from the group. As he sped off, Lien hit some of the motorcyclists, critically injuring one, authorities said.

Other motorcyclists then chased Lien's SUV and then bashed in his windows, pulled him out of the car, and beat him, police said.

The undercover police officer was at the scene where Lien was beaten, officials said.

The prime suspect of the beating is still at large, though he could surrender to cops as early as this evening, officials said.

A source briefed on the case told ABC News that in the days since the attack "new evidence has been coming in and it will give prosecutors much better evidence for charging the attackers."

The new evidence includes additional video footage and stills compiled from a variety of cameras that were situated around the scenes of the chase and melee, the source said.

回谷村富郎兄, 我從來沒有說過 Lien 在電單車司機的死亡做錯了什麼.  但如果是我在那個時刻駕駛在那個地方駕駛那SUV, 我不會冒險我的妻子和女兒安危.  

然而, 如果我是自己開車...

一樓沒有告訴整個故事.  這裡是一些要點:
這組電單車非法騎駕.  不是因為"兩輛摩托車不能使用同一車道" (lane sharing is legal in many states), 而是他們的許可證被市政廳拒絕 (在紐約, 騎駕 "Hollywood Style" 須許可證)
那班混蛋中許多電單車都是非法擁有
那班混蛋中許多是被定罪的罪犯
同一組在過去同一方式多次攻擊過人

An undercover police officer was arrested Tuesday after allegedly lying to police about his involvement in the Sept. 29 motorcycle mob and subsequent attack of an SUV driver in New York City.

According to WABC-TV, the undercover officer, 32-year-old Wojciech Braszczok, was charged with riot and criminal mischief.

The veteran detective originally told police he didn't arrive on the scene until after the attack on Alexian Lien took place. However, video viewed by the NYPD told a different story, according to NBC New York and the Daily News.

In the video, the undercover officer can be seen banging on the rear window of the Range Rover, unnamed police sources told NBC.

"It shows him punching the back window," another unnamed source told the Daily News of the new footage reviewed by investigators on Monday. "And then as the camera is moving it catches him maybe throwing a kick at the side of the car."

After Lien was pulled from the SUV by the bikers, the undercover officer is then seen riding away. Lien was then beaten in front of his wife and daughter by the bikers, who had followed the vehicle up the West Side Highway after it clipped one of their fellow cyclists.

NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly said the officer, who waited several days before coming forward, had been placed on modified duty pending the outcome of an internal investigation. Tuesday afternoon he turned himself in and was taken to Manhattan Central Booking.

The undercover officer was unarmed at the time of the attack, according to the report, and was not carrying a badge.

The rules for undercover officers when it comes to reporting crimes are often vague:

Undercover officers are required to immediately report being a witness to a crime. Uniformed officers are required to take police action if they see a crime occurring, but the rules are murkier for undercover officers who face blowing their cover, confusing civilians who don't realize the undercover is really a cop and ruining years-long investigations.
"Compromising his identity could compromise all the work he's doing and his safety as well," Michael Palladino, president of the NYPD detectives union, told NBC. "It's very difficult to lead a double life."

Four bikers have been formally charged in the SUV assault so far, and police are seeking at least two other suspects.

According to NBC, as many as five other off-duty police officers may have been riding with the hundreds of motorcyclists at the annual event.

樹大總有枯枝,纽约大城市有少數"有牌爛仔"都係正常嘅。
題外話,被打的SUV司机Lien,看他的姓,应是普通話"連",可能是大陸移民,如果是香港人應習慣譯為"Lin"。大陸人習慣開車比較"牛精",缺乏忍耐精神,讓人的心胸較香港人細,此事如果是港人,大多會蝕底少少忍讓了事,免去一場無謂災劫。
