等不及為下一個的M3?
BMW合作夥伴Alpina
Alpine B3
Can’t hold out for the next M3? BMW’s close (but technically independent) partner Alpina has an option available now—for those in Europe, at least—in the B3 Biturbo. As the name suggests, the B3 still uses BMW’s superlative twin-turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine, but with enough mods to turn 300 stock horsepower into 404 here. Torque also skyrockets, going from 300 lb-ft in the 335i to 443. A ZF-designed automatic transmission is the only gearbox available; if Lambo and Ferrari can’t convince Europeans to buy sticks, why would Alpina try?
As we know all too well from the Alpina-fied 7-series, the B7, the company’s enhancements to BMW models go way beyond mere hot-rodding under the hood. A new suspension system is installed, special 20-inch wheels fitted, and the interior swathed in high-end leather and trim. B3 Biturbo sedans start (before taxes) at around €52,700, wagons at €54,000 (roughly $68,775 and $70,550, respectively, at current exchange rates). At that price, the B3 is some 40-percent costlier than the 335i, making a strong case for waiting until the M3 hits the market. Here in the U.S., we don’t have that option; the B7 is Alpina’s offering here, and there aren’t plans to expand the lineup.
