Yes, the highly educated and prominent younger generation insisted to go for the change, but in making the higher hierarchy to admit this is a historical mistake was creating a problem, as the special advantage, immunity or benefit not enjoyed by the higher hierarchy, and ended up with more brutal rapes or sexual harassments were used as a threat to stop such change. So, people such as Seridevi made a film to encourage the girls from the untouchable hierarchy to gain respect from learning English, and leave India. Sad, is it?

Seridevi did not give up, received international recognition, because she sympathises the untouchables  as well as her own experience, her film is wisely performed in trying not to upset all forms of people from India, but looks at the oppositions in becoming unmanageable, and in causing death to a college girl on a recent fatal bus gang rape to retaliate her motion as a result in helping her country.  Really sad, tragically!
