The HTC J Butterfly is a smartphone designed and developed by HTC for release in Japan, and the successor to the HTC J. Unveiled on 17 October 2012 by Japanese carrier KDDI, the J Butterfly will be released in December 2012 in Japan. It is the second smartphone in the world to feature a 1080p display, after Oppo's Find 5.The phone will arrive with Android version 4.1 (dubbed Jelly Bean), a quad-core 1.4 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and an 8-megapixel camera. It comes with 2 GiB of RAM and a 2,020 mAh battery.
The J Butterfly is waterproof and has a 5-inch "Super LCD 3" display with full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels). This translates to a pixel density of 440 ppi.In comparison, The HTC One X offers 312 ppi, the iPhone 5's "Retina display", 326 ppi, and the Nokia Lumia 920, 332 ppi.The display is manufactured by Sharp and JDI.
The Droid DNA is the Verizon version available for $200 with a two year contract. It shares many similar specifications as the J Butterfly, but lacks a MicroSD slot.
