How can people talented enough to operate a complicated vehicle on some of the most confused streets in the world, at the same time have so little to nil common sense?
I think it may not fair to compare Hong Kong to other countries. since hogging is such a small place and so many cars on the road. in other countries the cars are much less than in HK. of course apart from those main roads in the city. comparatively every road in the main road. although I said this, I don't mean it's safer to drive in HK.
the mentality of drivers in HK is completely different. sometime I don't even know how they get their license.
most of those drivers only care for their convenience. the most basic thing for driving like how and when to use the turning indicator, you won't see it often that driver will use it when they turn. like in round about, I have seen it so many times that accident happen. people turn out from the round about without and signal and the car at outer lane crash on it.
speeding I always think that is not the major cause for accident. drive fast does not mean drive dangerously. what is dangerous driving? cut lane and cause the car behind to brake is one. I think many people have seen it before and eventually accident happen. taxi and mini bus are most common.
be more considerate to other cars on the road, accident should be less.
I would say driving in the city centre of all big cities wouldn't be a pleasant experience, they were more or less the same. Be frank, imo drivers in Paris and Rome wouldn't be better than those in HK .
And luckily we still have countryside and the winding road onto the hill which is quite enjoyable to drive on during late night or very early morning:)
