They made a DOHC engine for old ZR-1.  That was C4 1990.  Engine was deign and made by Lotus.

For me, this car is full of muscle, but no brain.  Cheap interior is one of the problem.  I can't believe they use similar part to the cheaper car.  What a shame!

You are right, Chevrolet did put the Lotus designed DOHC engine in the ZR-1 for a few years, but for the true corvette aficionado this was never a real Corvette engine.  The high cost of production and reliability issues forced Chevrolet to drop this engine very quickly.

If you take about the reliability.  That is what you don't find in Chev.  I have few co workers driving C5 or C6.  They are all white, and drag racer only.  This car is poor fit and finish.  The seat has some noise.

Until the day I pick up my M92 M3.  They are not drag race with me again.

You are not going to find a lot of people to disagree with you that Corvette is one of the most unreliable American made car.  I guess beauty is really skin deep.
