今日面世45週年紀念的專輯：The Human League “Dare!” (1981年10月16日)

開場曲〈The Things That Dreams Are Made Of〉響起而徐徐地引領大家踏上這段時尚、靡爛而又富有未來風的 synth-pop 旅程，到最末以他們的冠軍單曲〈Don't You Want Me〉作結，這是何等無懈可擊的專輯編製，也是何解 The Human League 的第三張《Dare!》在 synth-pop 歷史上具有無可取替之劃時代意義。

隨著 Martyn Ware 和 Ian Craig Marsh 離隊另組 Heaven 17，Philip Oakey 引進了Joanne Catherall 和 Susan Ann Sulley 這兩位簽約 Virgin Records 時仍是末成年少女加入擔任和唱與伴舞，第二代 The Human League 走出以往的冷洌電音風格，蛻變成修飾而精巧的 synth-pop 姿態。整張曲曲皆精的《Dare!》，就有如〈The Sound of the Crowd〉所唱道 ”Where the people look good / Where the music is loud” 祭出滿滿時尚感，精良的 Linn LM-1 鼓機程序運用也甚標誌性。
