38 years ago today (28 September 1987), Depeche Mode released their brilliant sixth studio album “Music for the Masses” featuring singles "Strangelove" "Never Let Me Down Again" "Behind the Wheel" and "Little 15". Considered one of the band's best albums, Music for the Masses was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

The album was supported by the Music for the Masses Tour, which launched their fame in the US when they performed at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The tour led to the creation and filming of the documentary/live album titled 101.
