X JAPAN相隔八載的新曲《Angel》終於面世！與此同時，近日亦因Twitter改名為「X」而令「X JAPAN」成為熱門話題，YOSHIKI本人亦開腔回應。

YOSHIKI早於5月舉行記者會預告新曲推出的消息，《Angel》一曲終如期於7月28日正式面世。此曲是YOSHIKI一手操刀作曲及作詞的抒情作。YOSHIKI更親自負責專輯封面攝影。

繼YOSHIKI與HYDE、SUGIZO、MIYAVI組成的THE LAST ROCKSTARS首張單曲《THE LAST ROCKSTARS（Paris Mix）》和YOSHIKI製作的男子偶像團體XY的出道單曲《Crazy Love》之後，《Angel》再次由美國廠牌Melodee Music / Ingrooves / Virgin Music Group作全球發行。

在新歌發行前，YOSHIKI向美國雜誌《Consequence》發表了新曲感言：「我現在有許多計劃在進行中，同時也在進行X JAPAN的錄音工作。透過X JAPAN，我一直在內心中為了創造最好的藝術而奮鬥著。雖然花費了很長的時間，但最終還是能夠把這個作品帶給大眾，真的太好了。今年10月，我以YOSHIKI CLASSICAL的身分在美國卡內基音樂廳、美國杜比劇院和英國皇家阿爾伯特音樂廳等地進行巡演，而這些曲目原本是我以個人身分創作的。在那之中，我想藉由將美麗的旋律加入激烈的元素，讓它符合X JAPAN的風格。 我希望歌詞能成為那些受苦受難的人們的支柱。現在，包括我在內全世界都有人受到傷害。這首歌的歌詞中包含了『愛一個人，不要放棄，不要死去』的訊息，這也是我對自己的勉勵。」



另外，近日因Twitter公司的擁有人馬斯克（Elon Musk）宣布將將Twitter更名為「X」而引發了話題。網民熱烈討論Twitter日本版「Twitter JAPAN」的名稱是否也會更改為「X JAPAN」，而令「X JAPAN」一詞也成為了流行趨勢。結果Twitter的日本版版面目前命名為「JAPAN」，亦令各界議論紛紛。

YOSHIKI在接受《Consequence》雜誌的採訪時表示：「馬斯克是一個非常有創新精神並能激發靈感的人。幾十年前，我在日本組建了一個名為『X』的樂團。我認為最好是由樂迷們來決定，而不是由我本人來決定。我不想為『X JAPAN』這個名稱而爭論，我想以積極的態度看待它。如果我只能說一句話……就像大家所知道的，我們的紀錄片的標題是「We Are X」（笑）」。
