自鼓手 Taylor Hawkins 離世後，Foo Fighters 最近終於有了新動向！揉合一年多來分別、難過、不捨等種種情感，樂團宣布在今年6月發行新專輯《But Here We Are》，並同步推出新曲〈Rescued〉（拯救）。而新任鼓手究竟是何許人也，也再度引發樂迷討論。



去年3月26日，Foo Fighters 鼓手 Taylor Hawkins 在南美巡迴時猝逝、震驚全球歌迷。半年後，樂團為 Taylor Hawkins 舉辦了兩場致敬演唱會，包括 Liam Gallagher、Queen、Rush、Brian Johnson、Lars Ulrich、Paul McCartney 等搖滾明星都出席表演，各界也以不同方式，向 Taylor Hawkins 致上敬意。

致敬演唱會後，Foo Fighters 陷入了一段時間的沉寂。今年1月，樂團在官方 Instagram 上表示，未來將會繼續創作與演出，讓粉絲們放心：「沒有 Taylor Hawkins，我們永遠不會成為現在的 Foo Fighters。未來沒有 Taylor Hawkins，我們也會成為一支不同的樂團繼續前進。」「而且我們知道，當我們再次見到你們（粉絲）時，Taylor Hawkins 的精神將與所有人同在。」



4月19日、Taylor Hawkins 去世一年多後，Foo Fighters 宣布了新專輯消息，新作名為《But Here We Are》，將於6月2日上架。Foo Fighters 表示，這是樂團在過去一年所經歷的真實紀錄：「《But Here We Are》證明了音樂、友情、與親情擁有治癒一切的力量。」

新專輯共有10首歌，由 Foo Fighters 與長期合作製作人 Greg Kurstin 共同打造，象徵著樂團的全新篇章。首支單曲〈Rescued〉也率先亮相，發出不到一天，便吸引數十萬網友瀏覽。4分19秒的歌曲裡，涵蓋了憤怒、悲傷、接受、平靜等階段性情感，不僅回歸 Foo Fighters 剛組建時的衝勁，也可聽出樂團在這數十年間的成長。

那麼是誰負責《But Here We Are》的爵士鼓錄音、未來又是誰會接下 Taylor Hawkins 的鼓手之位呢？目前 Foo Fighters 仍對此賣關子，但網友們的討論早已喧囂塵上。目前最被認可的猜測，是知名音樂媒體《Variety》根據多個消息來源所提出，報導中表示新任鼓手最有力的人選，很可能會是 Taylor Hawkins 與 Dave Grohl 的多年好友 Josh Freese。他曾任 Guns N’ Roses、Nine Inch Nails、Weezer、Paramore 等知名搖滾樂團的合作樂手，對各種風格流派駕輕就熟，音樂生涯已為不同曲風的音樂人們錄製超過300張唱片。除了豐富的資歷之外，他的年齡也與 Foo Fighters 團員們相仿，因此被認為是 Foo Fighters 新鼓手的頭號人選。
