1958年全家移民澳大利亞，因為出色的演唱能力被星探發現並於1962年與當地的Festival Records簽約。1963年發行的首支單曲《Three Kisses Of Love》小試牛刀即獲成功，此後鼓手Colin Petersen和吉他手Vince Melouney加入，憑藉《Specks And Spicks》在澳大利亞奪得排行榜冠軍，然後正式走上星途。
