"Machine Head' turns 50 on 5 March 2022.

"Machine Head" is the sixth studio album released by the English rock band Deep Purple on 25 March 1972, featuring singles "Smoke on the Water", "Highway Star" & "Pictures of Home".

It's Deep Purple's most commercially successful album, topping the charts in several countries, including number one in the UK. Influential in the development of traditional metal, it continues to be viewed favourably by music critics and has been reissued several times.
