Celebrating the 40TH ANNIVERSARY of THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE, the debut solo album from GARY NUMAN, (September 7th, 1979)
THE PLEASURE PRINCIPE, arguably the most popular of Numan’s albums, was a masterful effort, from the opening surge of the instrumental AIRLANE to the closing, pulsing ENGINEERS.
Apart from the classic CARS, there was the imperial groove of METAL, the sad fey of COMPLEX, the soaring charge of FILMS, the mechanical pity of M.E. and the cold introspection of TRACKS.
Fortunately the fans ignored the detractors and saw Pleasure Principle for what it was, a landmark record.
