The federal settlement for Volkswagen's diesel emissions-rigging scandal is pending approval from a judge.
Though some owners objected to the massive settlement, U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer stated a strong inclination for approving the deal by Oct. 25th, giving time for more objections from owners.
The settlement will require the automaker to compensate owners of 475,000 Volkswagens and Audi vehicles with 2-liter diesel engines.
In total, the $10 billion settlement will see VW buy back or repair the vehicles, installed with deceptive software to cheat emissions standards.
The scandal broke in the US during late 2015 when the EPA filed a notice of violation against VW for the rigged software.
