In the US if you earned an annual income of US$60k then you would have reached the upper-end of the Lower Middle Class Group (In 2012, as classified by Wikipedia, the annual income bracket of this group is 25k--60k).
In China if you earned RMB60k annually, then you may have just barely clinched the Middle Income Class Group (In 2010, according to classification in CNN Money, the chinesel middle income class earns the range from RMB63k--RMB378K annually) .
While KFC maybe a regular fast food outlet in the US, this is not so in China. You may have to compare KFC with a regular fast food outlet like Zhen Kungfu where you can eat a regular meal for just RMB10.
When it comes to restaurant, i would like to compare the Sea Harbour Restaurant where both countries have this branded restaurant which is under the same group from HK and i have had the pleasure eating dim sum both in Guangzhou and LA.
I went to the GZ Sea Harbour last year when i visited my ex-colleagues there and they brought me to this restaurant. 4 of us (3 grown-ups + 1 6 year-old). I don't exactly recall how many dim sums we ordered, probably a dozen or so + a very nice pot of "Longjin" tea which i recall costed RMB30. The total spending for this occasion was something around RMB300.
I went to the LA shop some 4 years ago when i was visiting my sister in LA and she brought me to the Rosemead shop with her husband and 2 of his relatives. 5 of us with regular tea and more or less about a dozen dim sums and a fried rice / noodle or something like that (don't exactly remember) and the bill was about US$200 + tips.
Not going to comment about Levi's as this is also a US brand.
But i wish to mention one thing about the price of cars in China which is quite high but i would like to give credit to the Chinese government for controlling the quantity of cars put on the road. If the price of cars were as cheap as it were in the US, then this would certainly be an environmental disaster for the already polluted China.
BTW i visited the "Rou-Jia-Mo" stall in New York last year. This is a traditional chinese food for the ordinary and what it really was roast meat filled in between chinese-style buns and each costs US$3.00 and the same food in China costs only RMB5
I am not saying that China is good nor am i saying the US was bad. I only wish to bring up a more sensible discussion on this topic.........no offense whatsoever.

No problem. Please see 14th floor to see the purpose of this topic or go back to 1st floor and perhaps there will be a better understanding.
And I wasn't really stating which country was better or worse between China and the USA. I was simply pointing out that if and when people want to spread rumors, they will need to provide facts and not just some rumors on top on rumors.

In my view this is what i called "pseudo-topic".

Most cars sold in the USA appear to be cheaper simply because they're deemed "domestic" instead of "import". Almost all car manufactures build cars that are sold in the America in the USA. Therefore they aren't subject to import tariffs.
"While KFC maybe a regular fast food outlet in the US, this is not so in China. You may have to compare KFC with a regular fast food outlet like Zhen Kungfu where you can eat a regular meal for just RMB10." Exactly. Years ago someone told me KFC and McDonald's were like 5-star restaurants in Beijing.
