you had one before?

a relative (sister-in-law's husband, a German guy) had a Golf. Water pump failed and need replacement at 4 years. Door locking motor failed.

He still bought another new Golf (VI) after that though. Too much money to waste.

I am no German so won't buy VW. In Germany VW is a "peoples car", not prestige car. MB is considered better in Germany (but it still has problems if you own it long enough).
