think A$ will remain weak till the general election coming soon. If the world is not stable, Australia will be safe haven and will not be affected. If other currencies are down, then A$ can be relatively strong.

I have the same problem. I used to do the deposit only. On the recommendation of the DBS staff, I bought some currency at 7.86 and recently cashed out losing lots of money. I rather have the liquity to invest other opportunites rather than waiting. The Australian interest is coming down which does not favor the currency. In addition, Australian government also think their currency is too high to compete with other countries.
