寶馬 4系 應該準備好秋天時上市。

Captured here is the BMW 4-series without a disguise and in all its glory. At least as much as the previous generations of the 3-series coupe, the 4-series will be significantly different from the 3-series sedan, not even sharing a single piece of sheetmetal with its four-door sibling. The production-spec 4-series will be very similar to the Concept 4-series Coupe that was unveiled at the Detroit auto show this past January, and this means it will feature a sleek roofline, an elongated hood, and sculpted flanks. The gaping air intakes out front are uncomfortably similar to the new look within Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance lineup, established by the new E63 AMG. The rear end, meanwhile, is relatively conventional, in stark contrast to the concept we saw earlier this year. The "air breathers"—that’s a technical term for fender vents, according to BMW—are carried over from the concept, and shared with the 3-series GT.
BMW is hopeful that the 4-series moniker someday will carry the same equity that belongs to "3-series." The 4 will be a even-better-looking, more playful version of the 3er, which is still regarded as the quintessential sports sedan, and rightly so. Calling this vehicle a 4-series will give customers a more-premium feel without ratcheting up to the dearly expensive 6-series.
The F32 4-series will share its architecture with the F30 3-series; these underpinnings will form the basis of the coupe depicted here, a folding-hardtop convertible, and a Gran Coupé four-door. The upcoming M4 will use the same basic platform, but it will be heavily modified using lightweight materials in an effort to keep weight to a minimum.
Powertrains: The U.S. market will get the 428i, powered by a 240-hp, 2.0-liter turbo four, and the 435i, featuring a 300-hp, 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six. The M4 will receive a heavily modified variation of the N55 straight-six found in the 435i, however it will be twin-turbocharged and output will be pumped up to nearly 450 horsepower. As is offered in the current 3-series coupe, the 4-series will offer rear- and all-wheel drive. Standard models will offer a choice of a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic, while the M4 will offer buyers the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
BMW will launch the 4-series in the fall of 2013 as a 2014 model. The convertible will follow a year later, with the M4 arriving by mid-2014 as a 2015 model. Pricing is expected to begin very near $40,000. |
