The Lenovo ThinkPad Twist is that it is giving the small business and education users a Ultrabook that takes full advantage of Windows 8 while keeping the iconic ThinkPad business look and feel. We've seen twist high design laptops in the past but this is the lightest with the most power that I've seen in a long time. Check out the hands-on video and spec list below.
The Twist Ultrabook is the ultimate Windows 8 convertible Ultrabook aimed specifically at the business market, featuring multi touch capability and adaptable use in four different modes.
At 0.79-inches and 3.48 pounds, the Twist equips professionals with the same thin and light design found in consumer Ultrabooks without sacrificing business-class performance. The 12.5-inch HD IPS display with Gorilla Glass and multi touch capability provides clear, bright images powered by the latest processor technologies from Intel. Hands-On With the Lenovo Thinkpad Twist
The Twist convertible Ultrabook provides all-day mobile productivity with seven hours of battery life and up to 500GB of HDD storage or the option of a fast 128GB SSD. Since small businesses often do not have dedicated IT departments, the Twist comes with Lenovo Solution Center for Small Business, which includes hardware-based capabilities to improve productivity and enhance security.
Additionally, Twist provides enterprise level security with Trusted Platform Module (TPM), as well as increased energy savings and remote management for secure computing.
It's a high-power Core i7 convertible tablet with a full keyboard, keyboard joystick, trackpad, and touchscreen. It also has an anti-glare screen, 8Gb RAM, and a 128Gb SSD. The rumor is that the pricing on this one starts at around $850 as well, so that's not a bad price for a powerful Windows 8 tablet PC convertible. It's also got plenty of important ports like Ethernet, multiple USB, and a full SD card slot. It's clearly a business-style tablet as you would expect from the ThinkPad brand, but if you need all the flexibility of plenty of hardware ports, a heavy-duty processor, plenty of RAM in addition to all of the fun stuff in Windows 8, this could be a good choice.
