I think 512M is sufficient and I think the GPU for S Duos should be ok...what do you think?

it's barely acceptable as the S Duos' hardware is just a bit over the lowest requirement. MSM7227A / Adreno 200 GPU is quite an updated chipset...even those unknown China OEM made phones with MT6575 has a better performance to it. So why not pick a China-made one's instead of over-paying the S Duos?

You are right...any upgrade might slow down the performance of the phone.
